Mushroom Farm Tour & Cook Up
Explore a Bass Coast Wonder - A 2.5 hour culinary Experience - ideal for group and Christmas events.
Service Description
If you are a foodie or passionate about how your food is grown, this experience is perfect for you. Over 3 hours, you and your friends will be taken on a tour and explore the mysteries of mushroom farming. You will hear how the closed loop system works, visit the cave and growing rooms, learn about the variety of oyster mushrooms or shiitakes growing. You will try your hand at picking and visit the permaculture garden to see how the mushroom mulch is re-used across the farm. We will then pick some seasonal vegetables or salads and mushrooms from the farm and cook up a storm either in the outdoor kitchen on the hot fire or in The Atrium in inclement weather. We will gather together for a light lunch with freshly made sourdough, roasted veg or salads and a variety of ways to prepare and cook our mushrooms. You will get to try one of our famous Oyster mushroom pies. Tea and coffee available. Minimum group of 4 people - Perfect for End of year celebrations and friends coming together over food. No alcohol provided. We can curate this event to suit your needs. Wet weather contingency available. In Winter, we are around the fire and in the Summer we sit by the flower garden overlooking the vegetable garden and the horses. You can stock up on goodies at the Farm Gate before going where you will find our selection of grow kits, pies, quiches or your very own grow kit. If booking for an end of year celebration, why not treat your team with their very own mini farm to take home at only $35 per person.
