Service Description
Often referred to as Equine therapy or energy work, contemporary clinical research shows that close proximity to horses change the human brain wave patterns suggesting that humans can be transformed in a very positive way when in presence of horses. Appropriate interaction with horses can therefore prove therapeutic to adults and children alike. Equine Facilitated learning is an interaction between horses and people designed to promote experiential learning for all participants. EFL promotes strategies to attain healthier relationships that in turn can improve wider group and family dynamics. EFL sessions bring together horses and people in a safe, supervised space designed to elicit positive and empowering interaction. We offer both individual and term based programs. Our program includes a targeted program for the individual. We combine EFL with all the skills of becoming a competent horse carer and rider whilst taking into consideration where the participant is at. Some of the activities we undertake are Liberty work, grooming, taking care of your horse (ground work), bareback riding, saddle work, leading and much more. We work in with parents and carers as well as participant as to what they wish to achieve whilst at the farm and with the horses, Many of the skills learnt in the energy field of a horse can be transferred into the daily challenges of life. The work is delivered by Peter Bland and his team. Peter is a well known outdoor educator, coach and adventurer using the outdoors as a catalyst for transformation and building resilience. His work combines his fearless living approach to life in a safe way which empowers both children and adults to strive beyond their conditions. Our riding school's philosophy revolves around Natural Horsemanship and leading a movement towards a kinder and more empathetic way of interacting with horses. We use the Rope Whisperer (patent pending) developed by Peter to teach all of our students and horses. Please give us a call to discuss your requirements, funding (if applicable) and timing.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes cancellations or rescheduling need to happen due to unforeseen circumstances. Horse Experiences We require a minimum of 48hr notice for all cancellations and rescheduling to manage schedules of instructors and horses at the farm. If Wattle Bank Farm cancels or reschedules in the event of a force majeure, no charges will be incurred, and credit vouchers, valid for three years, will be issued as required valid from date of booking. If you cannot make your booking date, you can reschedule either with your next specific next date (if available) or be provided with a credit voucher to redeem at a later date (usable within 3 years of Date of Purchase). The first rescheduling will not incur any admin fees. More than 1 rescheduling appointment will incur a $20 fee per reschedule. For cancellations, as per the T&C's form issued on booking, a 25% cancellation fee is applicable if cancelling more than 48 hours before your booking. If you cancel within the 48 hrs, your booked service will incur a charge of 100% of the total booking amount. However you are able to transfer your booking to another person of your nomination or a credit voucher for your booked service can be issued towards a future booking (if applicable). Multi Day adventure camps and gift cards are non refundable. Failure to arrive for a booked and confirmed booking will incur a charge of 100% of the total booking. Cancellation due to weather - if there are severe thunderstorms or heat, we may need to reschedule for your own safety and that of the horses. We will contact you and offer an alternative date for the same service. If you cannot fit in new dates, we will issue you a credit voucher to the value of your booking valid for 3 years from date of original booking. Applicable for outdoor bookings. NDIS Bookings- Please refer to NDIS guidelines 2 clear business days (weekends and public holidays excluded). Farm stay Bookings: We require a minimum of 1 week's notice for a full refund. Note that no refund will be given for cancellations within 1 week of the booking start date. You will be provided with the option of rebooking a later date to the same value of your stay. If your new dates have higher rates, the extra fee will be required to be paid prior to arrival. You can also nominate another party to take over your existing booking.
